Sadia Malick is a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist and the driving force behind Ammalife’s life saving transport project in the mountain villages of Pakistan. Amie Wilson is Ammalife’s first PhD researcher and her meta-analysis of research on transport, women’s groups, Clinical Officers’ roles and Traditional Birth Assistants’ roles is transforming our understanding of how we work for effective change. Long serving trustees of Ammalife, both have recently contributed to a blog, Saving Humans, run by the Institute of Advanced Studies at the University of Birmingham. Sadia gives an overview of the situation in Pakistan while Amie comments on the central message emerging from the GLOW conference held on 1st. November in Birmingham.

The photo shows Sadia and Amie outside the Houses of Parliament just before a reception to mark  MADE’s At Our Mothers’ Feet campaign in which Sadia and Amie provided an invaluable advisory role.
